CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals, Round 4 – Morden, MB, June 26-27, 2010
The weather on race day turned out to be better than forecasted making for great conditions. There was a ton of action upfront in the competitive MX2 class and Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM rider Eric Nye was battling for position all day long. Getting a top 10 start in both motos the #12 of Nye picked off one rider after another and was closing in on 3rd place when an untimely tip over cost him a few positions late in the moto. Not one to give up he charged for the remaining laps gaining one more place and ended the day with a 5th overall on the strength of 4-7 moto results. Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM’s Kyle McGlynn who was injured just before round 2 is healing up and will be on the line when the series resumes in 3 weeks. In the MX1 class Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM’s Kornel Nemeth shook off the early round issues and put his Royal Distributing KTM 450 SX-F on the podium after giving the Morden MX fans an exciting show coming from 19th to take the 3rd spot at the end of the moto. The friendly Hungarian used raw speed and determination to make passes and fought his way to the front ending up in 4th overall for the day. Meanwhile Miami, Manitoba’s Ryan Millar was the true fan favorite at the track and he showed he was familiar with the start as he nailed a clear holeshot on his Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM in moto 2 and just narrowly missing it in the first moto. Millar who is still riding through an injury posted his best results to date with 15-11 moto scores and looks to use this time to heal up and come on strong the second half of the season.
The entire team will rest up and come out swinging as the series takes a break before the first east round in Gopher Dunes, Ontario on July 18th. KTM Canada would like to thank all of the mechanics, for their hard work during the first four rounds, Craig Fortune and staff at RTR Performance for hosting the race truck and KTM staff between rounds, Charlene Munro for the catering, Rob Munro and Valley Speed, and Dan Coombs for cart and stand as well as the Millar family for hosting the team and all the help at the track.

Orange Motorsports KTM rider Jeremy Medaglia had another successful weekend on his KTM 250 SX-F. Medaglia scored a 7-4 for a 4th overall. Medaglia sits in 5th position in the MX 2 standings.
RTR Performance’s Kerim Fitz-Gerald scored 8th in moto 1 when bad luck struck and he was unable to complete moto 2 due to a mechanical issue. The 2010 250 SX-F rider backed by RTR Performance out of Kamloops, B.C. will be racing some local Ontario Provincials and fully heal his knee during the series break. His main focus is to get on the podium in the East.
Fellow KTM rider Kaven Benoit backed by Duroy Racing and Sports Plus Enr out of Québec also scored a top 10 place in Morden. Kaven was solid all day long going 6-8. He rode to a 6th overall on his 2010 KTM 250 SX-F.

Série nationale de motocross CMRC, course 4 – Morden, Manitoba, 26 et 27 juin 2010
La température pour la course 4 des nationaux a été mieux que de prévu donnant des excellentes conditions pour les courses. Il y a eu une tonne d’action à l’avant du peloton dans la très compétitive classe MX2 et le coureur Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM Eric Nye s’est battu pour sa position toute la journée. Il a réussi à obtenir un départ dans le top 10 à ses deux motos et le #12 a dépassé coureur après coureur perdant de justesse la 3e position à sa 1ère course. Extrêmement persévérant, Nye ne s’est pas découragé et a pris la 5e position au total de la journée avec des résultats 4-7. Le coureur Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM Kyle McGlynn qui est blessé depuis la 2e course, se porte de mieux en mieux et sera de la partie à la prochaine course dans 4 semaines. Dans la catégorie MX1 le coureur Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM Kornel Nemeth a finalement montré de quoi il est capable et a mis sa KTM 450 SX-F sur le podium après avoir donné tout un spectacle en partant de la 19e position pour passer le drapeau à damier en 3e positon. Le sympathique coureur Hongrois a utilisé toute sa vitesse et sa détermination pour terminer en avant le plus possible. Il a obtenu la 4e position au total pour la journée. Pendant ce temps, le jeune coureur favori du Manitoba Ryan Millar, a obtenu le Holeshot avec sa KTM Royal Distributing Thor Dragon Fuels KTM dans la 2e course. Millar qui se remet encore d’une blessure a obtenu ses meilleurs résultats à date, 15-11.
L’équipe complète va prendre un peu de repos pour revenir en pleine forme lorsque la série reprendra dans 3 semaines soit le 18 juillet à Gopher Dunes en Ontario. KTM Canada aimerait remercier tous ses mécaniciens pour leur travail acharné durant les 4 premières courses, Craig Fortune et ses employés de RTR Performance pour avoir gardé le camion KTM entre les courses. Le coureur du concessionnaire KTM Orange Motorsports, Jeremy Medaglia a eu une autre excellente fin de semaine avec sa KTM 250 SX-F. Medaglia a pris la 4e position au total avec les résultats 7-4. Il est maintenant 5e au classement général de la série en MX2.
Le coureur RTR Performance, Kerim Fitz-Gerald a fini en 8e position à sa 1ère course et n’a malheureusement pas pu prendre le départ de la 2e course à cause d’un problème mécanique. Fitz-Gerald et sa KTM 250 SX-F participeront à quelques courses provinciales en Ontario et il a comme objectif principal de monter sur le podium dans l’est.
L’autre coureur KTM, Kaven Benoit de Duroy Racing et Sports Plus Enr., a encore une fois réussi à finir dans le top 10 à Morden. Kaven a été très consistant toute la journée avec des résultats 6-8 pour une 6e position au total sur sa KTM 250 SX-F.
